Credits matter
This website was hand-coded by yours truly, relying on a lot on FOSS assets and free courses, and no AI. Only plain old HTML and CSS with just a hint on JavaScript. Why bother, you may ask? Well, this way, I know exactly what is on each page of this website, down to the tiniest easter-egg hidden in the code. Such a static website is also more eco-friendly (the entire folder is less than 1Mo!), and would even offer better SEO performances if I cared about this.
As such, it is important in my opinion to give credits where it is due, so here is a (non-exhaustive and messy) list of FOSS-related assets, programs, events, and of course, volunteer people who helped me a lot:
- Resources and software programs used for this website creation: "Invention" by user sdworkz (html+css template), Kate (code editor), KImageMapEditor (html map editor, for the clickable banner), Tiled (tileset and 2D map editor, for the clickable banner too)
- Itch.io users whose assets I used in the clickable banner: Cup Nooble, HelloRumin and SunGraphica for their assets I used in the banner! (Assets for cow scene; assets for office scene; assets for UI message box)
- Itch.io users I worked together with during LocJam 2023: Gnou, Niccolò Romero-Passerin and artmuse62 - thank you again!
- Other FOSS tools I often use as a linguist and freelancer: OmegaT, Maxprograms' CAT suite and other tools from the same developpers, Libreoffice suite, OnlyOffice suite (offline version), Nextcloud, Dolibarr - among many others.
- Cloud hosting provider: Infomaniak (not free nor open-source, but they get an honourable mention as far as I am concerned)
This list is far from complete and might be updated later. Feel free to also use it as a reference sheet for useful FOSS tools!
